Distraction Action

Always wondered how that's comfortable!

Do dogs know they're adorable? Ours certainly seem to! Simply in the way they look when begging for food, cuddles or hugs, eyes wide and face dimpled with the sweetest smile...they have to know their powers. At every opportunity, it seems, they paw and gaze, never afraid to ask for attention. Of course, they know our weakness as well as their own power; with persistent pleas they almost effortlessly garner attention. But it's even more effective when both Bristol and Kinley combine their cuteness to subtly distract us.

Happily they snooze in odd but undeniably cute positions, paw at each other like cats, politely play tug together, look up at us pleadingly, and even simply sit, patiently waiting for anyone...anyone...to note their cuteness. Whether accidentally or purposefully, they are exceedingly distracting...but we don't mind! With their crazy antics and wily tactics, they always provide relief and laughter throughout the day. When they splay out across the kitchen as we work, they certainly distract, making us trip, laugh, or smile at their faithful attachment. Trying to read or play an instrument, we are again faced with their remarkably effective and innocent distraction action as they thrust their noses in our laps or gently paw at us. "Hey, I'm da impoh-tant one here!" Their distraction knows no limits...and neither does their cuteness! But it is one of the most wonderful things about these two trouble-makers. Although we might not get as much done with their antics, we also would be sorely missing out on all the joy and warmth they bring. This is the powerful distraction action of our dogs.
